Sonu Sood extends support to boatmen of Varanasi who 'were on the verge of starvation'

Sonu Sood being the pillar of support to lakhs of needy people in the country has once again extended a helping hand to the families of around 350 boatmen of Varanasi who are on the verge of starvation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was reported that around 350 boatmen at 84 ghats along the Ganga in Varanasi and their family members were facing acute financial hardship. Their problems have only piled up due to the floods in the Ganga and that for 15-20 days, the boatmen's children had to sleep empty stomach. The official Instagram page of Sood Charity Foundation shared a post while giving a glimpse of the destruction caused by the floods in the Ganga and the ongoing pandemic. Sharing the post, the foundation wrote, 'Advocacy is essential, but the action is what matters. Hunger cannot wait...'The only Ray of Hope @sonu_sood assured help to the families of around 350 boatmen in Varanasi who were on the verge of starvation due to the pandemic and floods in The Ganga.' Amidst all his charitable work, now, Sonu has also announced a monetary fund for 250-300 brilliant IAS aspirants. The official Twitter handle of Sonu Sood Charity Foundation shared a post and wrote, 'Taking the next leap, @SonuSood announced a monetary fund for 250-300 brilliant IAS aspirants. Our country needs the best-trained minds to take it forward with administrative adroit. What better way, than to offer a scholarship on his mother's death anniversary.' Well, Sonu has been receiving applause for his charitable ventures for the lesser privileged - from arranging buses, trains and air travel for migrants stuck in Mumbai during lockdown to be sent back to their home, to chartering flights for students stuck across the world, to starting so many initiatives that benefit those who need help, Sonu continues to do all that he can to ease the common man's pain amid the coronavirus lockdown. Meanwhile, on the professional front, the 'Dabangg actor' has signed multiple projects, out of which some will be releasing soon. This includes 'Kisaan', 'Prithviraj', and a Telugu film titled 'Acharya'.
