Delhi's air quality remains 'very poor'
The Air quality in the national capital remained in the 'very poor' category on Thursday morning, with the overall (AQI) sliding at 321, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). As per the SAFAR, the concentration of PM10 particles stood at 311 in the 'poor' category while PM 2.5 at 147 in the 'very poor' category today.

Delhi: Petrol Rs 89.88, diesel Rs 80.27 per litre
Petrol and diesel prices have gone up again in the national capital and stood at Rs 89.88 per litre and Rs 80.27 per litre, respectively on Thursday morning. The price of petrol price saw a hike of 34 paise per litre while diesel price increased by 32 paise per litre. Read more
Over 10,000 frontline workers get Covid shots
Over 15,300 people turned out for Covid shots on Wednesday, which is more than the total individuals who turned out to get the shot a day before. The turnout percentage was 51.1%, slightly higher than what was reported the day before. The total number of vaccinated persons has crossed 2.25 lakh. Two more vaccination centres were added to the existing network of vaccination centres and now, Delhi has 300 centres. Jamia students want resumption of offline classes
Claiming that Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University have reopened their campuses and allowed libraries to function, students of Jamia Millia Islamia assembled outside the varsity gate demanding resumption of physical classes. No corona death in Delhi for 3rd time in February
The capital on Wednesday recorded zero deaths due to Covid-19 for the third time this month. Earlier, on February 9 and February 13, no deaths were recorded due to the viral infection. The number of fresh cases of Covid-19 recorded in the past 24 hours stood at 134. A total of 59,886 tests, including 39,852 RT-PCR and 20,034 via rapid antigen testing took place in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate, meanwhile, was recorded at 0.22%, slightly more than Tuesday’s 0.17%. On Tuesday, Delhi had recorded 94 fresh Covid cases — the lowest in over nine months — from 56,944 tests. Polling booths enter Covid map for jabs
The polling booths in Delhi will now play a role in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. The booths will be mapped to create vaccination centres for inoculation of 42 lakh Delhiites aged above 50 years and those below 50 but with comorbidities. The electoral rolls will be used to identify those who are over 50 years old. Delhi has 13,750 polling booths, and according to the density of the age group at these, vaccination centres will be created to ensure that the people do not have to travel far from home to get the Covid shots. Demolition in Gurugram to restore forest in hills
A team from Municipal Council of Sohna on Wednesday razed 15 unauthorised structures at Ansals Aravali Retreat in Raisina. This is the first such demolition drive in the area. The move comes after NGT had in August directed Haryana government to restore forest in Raisina hills of the Aravalis by January 31. More than 400 farmhouses are located in the area.
