Houses for poor in 10 cities of UP

Lucknow, Feb 18(UNI) With an aim to provide residential facilities to the weaker and middle-class people of the state UP government is set to implement projects worth over R. 20,000 crores which will help in constructing colonies in 10 selected cities
The projects will be implemented under the Smart City Mission of the Union Government.
"Work is on to develop seven more cities (Meerut, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Shahjahanpur, Mathura Vrindavan, Firozabad, and Ghaziabad) of the state as smart cities," a government spokesman said here on Thursday.
Under the AMRUT Yojana, GIS-based master plans are in progress for the selected 60 cities of UP that have a population of above one lakh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi always dreamt of providing a roof to every homeless person, and to fulfill his dream, he did every possible effort. In this regard, more than 40 lakh houses have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Rural and Urban and Chief Minister Housing Scheme, the official said.
"As a 'matter of pride', the Pink toilets have been constructed exclusively for women in all the urban bodies of the state. Door-to-door waste collection is being done in 11,909 wards by the urban bodies of the state," he said.
It is worth mentioning that Uttar Pradesh has been ranked 7th in the year 2020 in the clean survey rankings.

Chandigarh, Feb 18 (UNI) Giving relief to mining suppliers during the ongoing development works in Delhi, Haryana government has decided to allow such suppliers, who have valid work orders, to bring mineral in Haryana and they will no longer be forced to dump their mined material in Delhi due to fear of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
