BATHINDA: Farmers on Thursday sat on railway tracks at many places in Punjab and Haryana as part of 'rail roko' protest against new farm laws.
Trains had to be stopped in Ludhiana, Phagwara and Jalandhar.

In Punjab, rail traffic was disrupted in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Pathankot, Rampura.
Protesting farmers sat on railway tracks in Haryana as well - Ambala, Gurugram, Panipat, Jind, Rohtak, Kurukshetra and Rewari.

Reports of rail traffic are also coming from Behrampur in Odisha, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Patna in Bihar, Midnapore in West Bengal, Modinagar in Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur and various places in Rajasthan.

Sanyukta Kisan Morcha leader, Darshan Pal said that the protest has got stupendous response across various states in India apart from Punjab and Haryana.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmers, last week announced nationwide rail blockade to press for its demand to repeal the legislations.
