Youth Congress activists stage protests over fuel price hike in Maha

Mumbai, Feb 17 (UNI) The activists of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) on Wednesday took to the streets across the state to protest against frequent hike in fuel prices by the (Narendra) Modi government.
Led by MPYC president Satyajit Tambe, the activists staged a 'Vishwasgat' (betrayal) agitation at Mira-Bhayander township of neighbouring Thane district to protest against continuous rise in fuel and cooking gas prices.
In a statement, he said that the fuel prices are rising rapidly in the country and held the central government responsible for this.
Mr Tambe further said that citizens are fed up of the daily increase in fuel prices and therefore, they staged agitation all over the state, he pointed.
Criticizing the Modi government, he said that Mr Modi came to power for the second time in 2019 with the slogan of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and had promised to reduce fuel and domestic gas prices but since he came to power, the fuel prices have been rising consistently.
Mr Modi made these promises to come to power but when he came to power, he betrayed them, Mr Tambe added.
