Stock market update: Nifty IT rises 1%; Info Edge leaps over 7%

NEW DELHI: Nifty IT index was trading higher at 02:16PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Info Edge (India) (up 7.22 per cent), MPhasis (up 2.9 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 2.42 per cent), Mindtree (up 1.56 per cent) and Coforge (up 1.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.56 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 1.11 per cent up at 25563.25 around 02:16PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down -69.45 points at 15139.45, while the BSE Sensex was down -306.87 points at 51396.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Bank of Baroda, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Central Bank Ind were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Central Bank of India, The New India Assurance, IOB, NBCC and Union Bank India hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while Vera Synthetic Ltd., Jiya Eco Products Ltd., Sanwaria Consumer Ltd., Radha Madhav Corporation Ltd., Osia Hyper Retail Ltd. and Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
