Royal Challengers Bangalore was the other club that showed interest in the Australian cricketer but chose not to bid beyond his base price, which was Rs 2 crore.

Meanwhile, South African all-rounder Chris Morris, who was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at a whopping Rs 10 crore last year, was sold to for Rs. 16.25 crores. He dethrones Pat Cummins to become the most expensive player in the history of IPL.

Morris was released by RCB after making just 9 appearances last season where he scored 34 runs and picked up 12 wickets.

The RCB had a tough fight with Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS) to get the all-rounder in their squad. IPL Auction 2021 Live
