Huawei Mate X2 teaser shows a folding screen design
NEW DELHI: It appears that Huawei is gearing up for the launch of its flagship Mate X2 smartphone. The company has posted a teaser for its upcoming Mate X2 smartphone on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The latest teaser posted by the company hints that the Huawei Mate X2 might come with a foldable design.

The company launched the first Mate X smartphone in 2019 and then the lineup was refreshed last year with a single large screen smartphone which can be folded in half. However, the upcoming smartphone is expected to come with a clamshell design. The teaser image shared shows the side angle of the smartphone. The launch event will take place on February 22 at 8 pm local time in China.

The smartphone will be powered by Huawei's own Kirin 9000 chipset and is said to sport a dual selfie camera. The smartphone is expected to sport an 8.01-inch inward folding display with 2480x2200 pixel resolution. Along with this, the smartphone is also said to house a 6.45-inch secondary display with 2270x1160 pixel resolution.

Huawei Mate X is said to sport a quad-rear camera setup with 50MP main sensor, 16MP secondary camera, a 12MP sensor and 8MP lens. The smartphone is also said to come with 10x hybrid optical zoom. The handset is said to be backed by a 4400mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

Last year, Huawei launched two new Nova series smartphones -- Nova 8 Pro and Nova 8 in China. The Huawei Nova 8 Pro comes in two storage variants of 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. While the former is priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 45,100), the latter is priced at CNY 4,399 (roughly Rs 49,600). As for the Huawei Nova 8, there are also 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants that cost CNY 3,299 (approximately Rs 37,200) and CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs 41,700) respectively.
