LUCKNOW: Lucknow University on Wednesday approved a proposal to adopt provisions of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in its postgraduate (PG) curriculum, thereby becoming the first higher education institute in the country to implement NEP, varsity officials here said.
"We are the first in the country to adopt NEP at our PG level)," said LU vice-chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai.
‘Many entry, exit options for students’
The students taking admission in two-year PG courses at LU will be taught as per NEP 2020 provisions from the next session (2021-22)," added Rai.
"This means, they will have multiple entry and exit options, besides getting to choose interand intra-departmental subjects for PG," he added.
The new curriculum allows a student to leave a two-year PG course after studying for a year, for which she/he will get a diploma certificate, while those who complete the full course will get a degree.
