Maha reports over 5000 COVID cases after two months

Mumbai, Feb 17 (UNI) The pandemonium triggered by the pandemic seems far from over as Maharashtra, yet again, on Thursday reported 5,427 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours.

In the same period, 38 people lost their lives, mounting the death toll to 51,669. The high number of infections in the country's second largest state comes at a time, when the cases are showing a declining trend in the country.

As many as 2,543 people recovered in the past one day. The state is currently monitoring 40,858 active cases.
