Bengal power minister tests COVID positive, in home isolation

In wake of Assembly Polls in Bengal staying confined to home, isolation could have a negative impact for any political leader especially when it is someone like Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay.

The power minister in Mamata Banerjee cabinet tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, following which he has advised home isolation, a health department official said.

The septuagenarian had been keeping unwell for sometime, he said.

Several Bengal ministers have contracted the virus in the last six months and subsequently recovered.
