LUCKNOW: Some car-borne youths tried to abduct a girl when she shouted to protest sexual harassment in Jankipuram. The accused fled when commuters rushed to the girl’s rescue on hearing her screams.
The girl lodged a complaint against a youth from Sitapur and his two aides.
The girl was returning home at around 5.30pm on Monday. While she was walking, the accused stopped her and made a lewd comment. The girl ignored him and increased her pace but the accused caught her hand.
“His two aides also come out of the car and shoved me inside the car,” she said in her complaint.
“I started screaming at the top of my voice to save myself when I saw no effect of my resistance on them. The commuters responded to my call and the accused fled threatening to kill me some day. They looted my earrings, goggles and wrist watch,” she alleged.
Station house officer, Jankipuram, Brijesh Singh said an FIR has been registered under relevant charges and police teams were conducting searches to nab the accused.
