Nintendo kicked off today's long-awaited Nintendo Direct broadcast by revealing the next DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it's Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Just as in Monolith Soft's RPG, she's able to switch between her alter ego Mythra during battle.
Like other DLC characters, Pyra and Mythra arrive alongside a brand-new stage, the titan Azurda. Other characters from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 such as Tora, Nia, Morag, and Zeke can also be spotted in the background of the stage.
Pyra and Mythra are joined by Rex for their Final Smash, and the move differs depending on which form is active. Pyra unleashes Burning Sword, while Mythra launches Sacred Arrow.
Nintendo hasn't announced a release date for Pyra/Mythra, but the fighters are slated to join the Smash Bros. Ultimate roster sometime in March. The pair are included as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 or can be purchased individually. Previous Challenger Packs ran for $6 USD, which will presumably be the same price for Pyra and Mythra.
