MTC increases number of buses from Koyambedu to Chennai's western suburbs

CHENNAI: Metropolitan Transport Corporation has increased the number of bus services from the city's western suburbs to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) in Koyambedu.
Recently, routes of three important bus routes have been changed.
Buses, which were plying on route number 558, used to connect Ponneri with Mint Bus Terminus or Vallalar Nagar. Now the destination has been changed. These buses, which depart from Ponneri, reach Koyambedu bus terminus via Retteri, Red Hills and Karanodai.
Similarly, bus number 505A will no longer connects Tiruvallur with Periyapalayam. Instead, these buses will reach Koyambedu via Red Hills and Thamaraipakkam.
MTC last week altered route number 208 too. These buses, which were operated in the north Chennai area, will be operated between Koyambedu and Oragadam via Poonamallee, the Outer Ring Road, and Padappai.
