IPL auction 2021: Check pictures of IPL 2021 auction room in ITC Grand Chola Hotel, The BCCI has slated the ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Chennai as the rendezvous for the IPL Auction 2021 going to be held on Feb 18th. The venue was confirmed on the official IPL twitter handle on Wednesday. The eight franchises will have their permutations and combinations all set by now and will be looking to strengthen their squad in the imminent mini-auction.

The franchises will be allowed to have a contingent of 13 members each to be present at the venue out of which only 8 people will be given the hall pass to the auction table, while the remaining 5 will be seated in the gallery. All the Covid-19 norms have been duly complied at the venue and the same has been passed on to the franchises to abide with before and on the day of auctions. Although no necessary quarantine period has been bombarded on the franchises owners and representatives but only if they pass on two negative RT-PCR tests, they will be permitted inside the premises of the auctions venue.

The franchises will not be allowed to meet their respective captains who are currently a part of the ongoing test series between India and England. Although the franchises have the privilege to connect with their team captains and other key personnel via video conferencing. The step has been taken in light of the Bio Secure Bubble under which no outsider is allowed to jostle with any of the team Indian players at the moment. The three captains who will be connected with their respective franchises via video conferencing mode on the big day of auctions will be- Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and, KL Rahul.

Kolkata Knight Riders with Rs.10.85 Cr and Sunrisers Hyderabad with Rs.10.75 Cr are the two franchises with lowest amount in their purse, while Kings XI Punjab with Rs.53.2 Cr, Royal Challengers Bangalore with Rs.35.7 Cr and Rajasthan Royals with Rs.34.85 Cr will be seen as the most active bidders on Feb 18th.
