Filming for Mission: Impossible 8 has been delayed. The movie was scheduled to film back-to-back with the seventh movie in the franchise.

Deadline reports that filming has been delayed because Tom Cruise will be on promotional duties for Top Gun: Maverick. Once the film has been released, cameras will start rolling on MI:8.

Mission Impossible 7 resumed filming in September last year after it was shut down in February due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Monday director Christopher McQuarrie gave an update on the film's progress on Instagram revealing that the team wrapped filming in the Middle East and that they were travelling back to London "for a few finishing touches."
