Pegatron has reported consolidated revenues of NT$82.419 billion (US$2.90 billion) for January, the lowest monthly level since March 2020.

The sum slipped 41.15% sequentially and 13.84% on year.

Pegatron is the largest OEM for iPhone 12 mini, sales for which were far short of expectation in Europe and the US in January, according to industry sources.

Viewing that global demand for notebooks remains strong due to remote working and learning in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Pegatron expects to ship about two million notebooks in first-quarter 2021, remaining unchanged sequentially. However, shipments for desktops and motherboards in the quarter will drop 25-30% on quarter due to off-season effects, Pegatron said.

Pegatron plans to set aside a capex budget of over US$300 million for 2021 mainly for setting up production lines in Vietnam and India.
