Western Cape police have arrested five men after discovering drugs at a home in Bellville, Cape Town.

The officers were carrying out a crime prevention operation in Bellville on Monday afternoon when they received a tip-off about the sale of drugs.

The members acted on information about drugs that are being sold at Belinda Court, Voortrekker Road, Bellville," police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said.

The officers searched the property and found drugs, which were confiscated.

"Upon their arrival, the members searched the house and found 834 parcels of khat worth a substantial amount and an undisclosed amount of money was confiscated. Five men, aged between 26 and 46, were arrested," Rwexana said.

The suspects were expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate's Court once charged.
