PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said everyone would like it if the prices of diesel and petrol do not rise, but right now the prices are on a rise.
On being asked whether the prices of fuels should not go down, Nitish while avoiding a direct reply said, “Right now, prices are up. Everyone would feel good if the prices do not rise and the rate goes down.”
The CM was talking to media persons after offering prayers on the occasion of Saraswati puja in the state capital here.
When a reporter pointed out that the prices of diesel and petrol are rising on a regular basis, “Yes, it is true. You are telling the truth. Right now, the prices are on the rise.”
The CM also said it is his choice to use an electric vehicle as it does not have a harmful impact on the environment. “However, petrol or diesel vehicles do have some kind of an impact,” he told reporters.
Extending his greetings and best wishes to the people of Bihar, the CM further said, “Today is Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja. I give my best wishes to the people on the occasion of this festival. Today we performed Saraswati puja which is done to obtain knowledge."
