SBI at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Up 1.0%

SBI share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 415 (up 1.7%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 20,219 (up 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are SBI (up 1.7%) and BANK OF MAHARASHTRA (up 20.0%).

CORPORATION BANK (down 3.9%) and METROPOLIS HEALTHCARE (down 2.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SBI has moved up from Rs 320 to Rs 415, registering a gain of Rs 95 (up 29.41%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,921 to 20,219, registering a gain of 4,298 points (up 26.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 408.7%), DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 306.2%) and ADANI ENTERPRISES (up 211.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 52,517 (up 0.5%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ONGC (up 4.1%), KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 2.9%) and INDUSIND BANK (up 2.8%). Other gainers include POWER GRID (up 1.9%) and TATA STEEL (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ONGC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 15,425 (up 0.7%). HINDALCO (up 5.2%) and ONGC (up 4.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,566 to 52,517, registering a gain of 10,951 points (up 26.1%).

SBI Financial Update...

SBI net profit down at Rs 52 billion for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 56 billion a year ago. Operating income declined 1.4% to Rs 667.3 billion during the period as against Rs 676.9 billion in October-December 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, SBI reported 492.3% increase in net profit to Rs 181.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 30.7 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 6.5% to Rs 2,699 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SBI, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.1x.
