Telangana reports 129 new COVID-19 caes, one fatality until Monday night

Hyderabad, Feb 16 (UNI) Telangana's COVID-19 tally climbed to 2,96,802 till date with 129 new coronavirus infections being reported in the state until 2000 hours on Monday.

COVID-19 deaths in the state surged to 1,619 so far as one more patient died of

the deadly virus in the last 24 hour translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent,according to a state health department bulletin on Tuesday.

In a span of 24 hours, 161 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide pushing the total recoveries in the state so far to 2,93,540 constituting a recovery rate of 98.90 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.3 per cent.

The active cases in the state currently stand at 1,643 including 637 individuals

in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.

In all, 24,851 samples have been tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 516 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,more than 83.36 lakhs COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state as on date.

Among the districts,the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation continued to be the main contributor of the infection by reporting 23 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

The remaining coronavirus cases of the day were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
