Feb. 15—Boulder police have arrested one man on suspicion of first-degree murder after another man died Sunday night from "suspicious wounds."

Robert Hicks, 30, was arrested and taken to the hospital to be medically cleared. Boulder police in a release said Hicks will likely be charged with first-degree murder once he is released.

According to the release, police were called to the 900 block of East Moorehead Circle for a report of a man not breathing. When officers arrived on scene, they found the man unconscious with "suspicious wounds."

They administered medical aid and transported him to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death as well as release the man's identity once next of kin have been notified.

Police said Hicks and the victim did know each other, and this investigation remains ongoing. Police do not believe there are any other suspects involved at this time.

Hicks has prior convictions for resisting arrest, DUI and criminal mischief in Elbert County, according to online court records.
