We accept EC decision to hold re-election in two booths wholeheartedly: Balbir Sidhu

Chandigarh, Mohali, February 16: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Tuesday while wholeheartedly accepting the decision of the State Election Commission to hold re-election in two booths in ward number 10 of Mohali city, claimed that Congress party candidates will win with a record margin than before from this ward.

Congress candidates will win from ward no 10 by a record margin

Sidhu further said that on February 14, like all wards of Mohali, elections were held in a peaceful and free, and fair manner in ward no 10. But a candidate, upset over his apparent defeat at the hands of a Congress candidate, got the decision to hold re-election in two out of four booths on the basis of false complaints. He said that the Congress party wholeheartedly accepted the decision of the Election Commission and Congress Party candidate would win the re-election booths by a margin of more votes than before, he maintained.

He said that Paramjit Singh Kahlon, who has been troubled by his apparent defeat in the elections at the hands of Congress candidate Amarjit Singh Sidhu, contesting from ward number 10, wants to stop the Congress candidate’s entry into the Municipal Corporation by Court and Election Commission’s cases. He said that his wish will never be fulfilled and the Congress candidates will win this election with great pride and dignity.

Sidhu, who represents the Mohali constituency in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, said that the Congress party is a party that follows the constitution of the country and does nothing that weakens democracy.

The Health Minister appealed to the voters of ward number to cast votes for Congress’s candidate in the election, so that those who are conspiring to obstruct the development of Mohali city could be given a befitting reply.
