After the end of the 2nd Test which saw India winning by a mammoth 317 runs against England in Chennai, the focus will all shift to the third Test that is slated to be played in Ahmedabad.
It will not only be India's annual pink-ball Test but will also be the first game to be played at the newly-constructed world's largest cricket stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad.
After BCCI and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) had allowed fans at the stadium for the second Test, the authorities decided to allow 50% crowd at the Ahmedabad stadium.
Talking about the day-night Test, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, in an interview with Star Sports, confirmed that the 3rd Ahmedabad Test tickets were completely sold out. It is believed that Ahmedabad's capacity is above 100,000 spectators.
"We wanted the fans back. We could have had it in the first Test in Chennai but we decided to go with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, who said ‘let’s see how it goes with the first one because this is our first game after a long time and then we open it up for the second," Ganguly added.
Ganguly also stated that India's home season will have at least one pink-ball Test match keeping the success of the Kolkata day-night Test against Bangladesh in 2019 in mind.
In the same interview, the Indian veteran also gave an update about his health. He reassured that he was fine and in good health. The BCCI President was admitted after experiencing chest pain and had suffered a mild cardiac issue.
"I'm feeling absolutely fine. Yes, there was a bit of scare but luckily it wasn't as scary as everyone thought. I'm fit and fine and I'm back to work," Ganguly said.
