Kerala govt offices to have napkin-vending units

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister K K Shailaja has said the government has decided to install napkin vending machines in all the government offices across the state. In addition to this, incinerators will also be installed.
The decision has been taken aspart of making the offices women-friendly. “The government is committed in making the offices a womenfriendly workplace and hence we are coming up with such initiatives. The fund for this will be sourced from the gender budget of each department,” Shailaja said.
In the first phase, the vending machines and incinerators will be set up at the offices where a major share of the work force are women. The incinerators will be set up adjacent to the toilets in the government offices.
