Riot Details Valorant Behaviour Detection and Penalties

Riot has shared details about social changes that are coming to Valorant soon. The upcoming 2.04 patch will punish AFK XP farmers and players who indulge in toxic chat behaviour.

Valorant’s penalty structure for AFK offenses has been revamped. Riot will track behaviour of players over time to punish players who consistently go AFK for farming XP. This will also help avoid punishing players who occasionally disconnect due to internet issues. Based on player behaviour, the penalties can range from warnings, XP denial, and deductions from ranked rating, to increased queue restrictions, barred entry from ranked games, and complete bans.

While discussing chat-based offenses, Riot has said that it has released text moderation for 11 languages and revamped the penalty system for text-based offenses. However, it hasn’t specifically mentioned which 11 languages have text moderation support. The penalties for text-based offenses include warnings, comms bans, ranked queue bans, and game bans. Players who are comms banned will be barred from Competitive queue. Violence, threats, or targeted harassment via in-game chat will not be tolerated and will warrant a game ban.
