WA Police launch air and ground search for two men missing near NT border

Police have found a body in their search for two young men missing in remote country on the border of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The deceased man has not yet been identified.

Byron Gibson and Messiah Young, both 20 years old, are missing near the Docker River Aboriginal Community (Kaltukatjara) in the NT.

The men left to drive south to the Wingellina Aboriginal Community in WA on February 8. Their white Toyota Landcruiser Prado broke down and was found on Thursday, February 11.

Police officers from Perth, Kalgoorlie, Laverton and Blackstone and State Emergency Service volunteers are conducting ground searches while chartered aircraft and police air wing officers help from above.

Anyone who sees the men is asked to phone police immediately on 131 444.

Police would like to speak with anyone who travelled in the area between February 8 and 15, had seen the white Toyota Landcruiser Prado, or have any information relating to the incident.
