BitGlass. The company says it "delivers data and threat protection for any interaction, on any device, anywhere", and that it operates at "cloud scale across a global network of over 200 points of presence", delivering "unrivalled performance and uptime to ensure secure business continuity for the largest organisations."
Late last month, Bitglass appointed Wayne Neich as the Regional Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand.
Of the appointment, Bitglass CEO Nat Kausik said: "I am excited to welcome Wayne. Demand for our SASE solutions is accelerating across the globe, and with Wayne's proven leadership I'm confident we will continue to expand our sales momentum in Australia and New Zealand."
Neich has more than 20 years' IT industry experience, most recently with Nutanix where he spent three years as A/NZ managing director, and has also held regional management roles at Silver Peak Systems and Blue Coat Systems (subsequently acquired by Symantec).
Concerning his appointment, Neich said: "The market is overflowing with legacy IT security solutions built around on-premises appliances. They are extremely complex and expertise intensive, and their vulnerabilities are publicly exposed weekly. The truth is that such vendors are losing the war on cybersecurity.
"I joined Bitglass because IT security professionals are seeking simpler but more comprehensive solutions that protect their business and employees as they increasingly adopt cloud, BYOD and direct-to-Internet SASE capabilities. I look forward to helping Bitglass change the way people and organisations protect themselves when using the cloud."
So, we decided to talk to Wayne Neich in a video interview to learn more about Bitglass and his view of the tech world, and we had a great conversation, which you can see in full below! After the interview is a summary of the topics we discussed.
I started by introducing Wayne and welcoming him to the program, and asked him to tell us about Bitglass and what "Total Cloud Security Platform" means in 2021.
He explained more about the security space Bitglass focuses on, and what it does to improve security for Australian enterprises.
We then spoke about the massive acceleration in digital transformation and the move to the cloud in 2020, and what Wayne and Bitglass learn from this and the continuing COVID reverberations.
Wayne shared his priorities for Bitglass in 2021, after which we learned more about his history in the world of tech, and his memories of his first computer all those years ago.
We ended in the same way I end all of my video interviews, asking Wayne about how he sees the industry transforming over the next few years through to 2030, great advice he has received in life, and his final message for iTWire viewers and readers, and to Bitglass's current and future customers and partners.
