New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted people on the occasion of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
Taking to twitter, Mr Modi wrote in Hindi, “Basant Panchami aur Saraswati Puja ke pawan Avasar Par Aap Sabhi ko Hardik Shubhkamnayen”,( Best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja).
Vasant Panchami, also called (Saraswati Puja) is a festival that marks the preparation for the arrival of spring.
The festival is celebrated by people in various ways depending upon the region in the life in the Indian subcontinent. It also marks the start of preparation for Holika and Holi, which take place forty days later.
On this day, people worship the Goddess of learning and knowledge Saraswati and this is very prevalent in north India especially in Hindi speaking belt.
