"We live in a society where honour is a distant memory, isn't that right, Batman?" says Jared Leto's Joker in the first trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League.
The first official trailer shows new footage and the return of Jared as the Joker. Last week the director released first images of his version of the villainous character.
The upcoming four-hour film is a re-edited version of the 2017 film which Zack stepped away and was completed by Joss Whedon. The new cut has an R rating due to violence and possible f-bombs, reports Entertainment Weekly.
According to the official synopsis, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) joins forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.
The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
