PSL 2021: Five hidden gems of Pakistan Super League- The much-awaited sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will commence on February 20. Last season champion Karachi Kings will face 2019 winner Quetta Gladiators in the tournament opener. The month-long T20 event will be a perfect opportunity for youngsters—Usman Qadir, Joe Clark, Azam Khan– to showcase their skills. Take a look at the hidden gems of PSL.
Azam Khan (Quetta Gladiators)
Azam Khan opened his PSL career with 59 off 33 deliveries. The son of head coach Moin Khan scored 150 runs at a strike rate of 130 in the previous season. He continued his impressive form in National T20 cup smashing a 43-ball 88 to help Sindh reach the semifinals.
Usman Qadir (Multan Sultans)
The leg spinner has claimed 45 wickets in 41 matches at an economy rate of 7.22. Usman Qadir has also played for BBL franchise Perth Scorchers. He has grown in the presence of Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir in the lineup. Qadir can also be a handy tail-ender.
Zeeshan Ashraf (Lahore Qalandars)
The hard-hitting left-hander Zeeshan Ashraf has five fifties to his name in T20s. He has a strike of 127 and also does well behind the stumps. His inclusion could trouble Ben Dunk.
Joe Clarke (Karachi Kings)
The Australian wicket-keeper Joe Clarke has two centuries to his name in T20s. The 24-year-old bats at a strike rate of 149. He can turn out to be a match-winner for Karachi Kings in their bid to defend the PSL title.
Hussain Talat (Islamabad United)
Talat is one of the inform batsmen in the Pakistan domestic circuit. He averages at least 35 in all the formats. The 24-year-old will play in the middle order following Alex Hales’ arrival in the Islamabad united setup.
