Media hounding young girls, but don’t have guts to question small men in big chairs: Mehbooba

Srinagar, Feb 15 (UNI) Accusing media of hounding the 21-year-old climate activist who was arrested for allegedly being involved in sharing a "toolkit" on social media related to the farmers' protest, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said that they can barrage young girls with obnoxious questions but don’t have the guts to question small men in big chairs.

“Pathetic & pliable mainstream media in India will hound & barrage young girls with obnoxious questions but don’t have the guts to question small men in big chairs. Shame on them,” Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Ms Mehbooba also shared the video posted by a news channel in which reporters could be seen asking questions activist Disha Ravi after she was sent to police custody in Greta Thunberg 'toolkit' case.

Ravi, arrested by a Cyber Cell team of the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on Saturday, was produced before a Delhi court on Friday. The court has sent her to police custody for five days.
