Gunn emphasized that the Suicide Squad is a standalone story and fans don’t need to watch David Ayer’s version to understand the new one. The director also revealed that he had complete freedom in story development and selecting characters for the movie.
When Gunn was asked about which character he’s most excited for fans to see, he responded by saying, “It's hard to choose only one, but I can't wait for people to see where Margot has gone with Harley. And Weasel is really something to behold.”
The recently revealed plot synopsis for the Suicide Squad has confirmed that the movie will take place in the war-torn locale of Corto Maltese.
