Justice Venkata sworn in as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court

Imphal, Feb 14 (UNI ) Justice Puligoru Venkata Sanjay Kumar was sworn- in as the Chief

Justice of Manipur High Court on Sunday at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, here.

Manipur Governor Dr. Najma A. Heptulla administered the oath of office to the new Chief

Justice .

Justice PV Sanjay Kumar was appointed as Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur by

the President on February 12.

Prior to this, he served as a Judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Justice Puligoru Venkata Sanjay Kumar, was enrolled as an Advocate on August 25, 1988

and practiced in High Court of Andhra Pradesh in Civil, Constitutional and Service matters.

He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on August 8,

2008 and as Permanent Judge on January 20,2010. He was transferred to Punjab and

Haryana High Court on 14.10.2019.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Cabinet

Ministers and others.

Nagaland Govt allows religious places in full capacity

Kohima, Feb 14 (UNI) The Government of Nagaland has allowed all religious places of
worship to operate with full capacity with immediate effect, subject to adherence to
COVID-19 ‘appropriate behaviour.’
In an order signed by Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha informed that
“The number of persons to be allowed in any religious place/place of worship is up to 100%
of the capacity of that building/place, subject to adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour
such as wearing of mask and hand sanitization.”
The order of February 13 last is a partial modification of Order issued by the Office of Chief Secretary, Nagaland on June 6, last year regarding opening of religious places/places of
religious worship.
