A 40-year-old woman was found dead on Antelope Island on Friday night, FOX 13 reports.
She had been dropped off to hike by herself around 6 a.m. and was reported missing at 6:30 p.m., according to FOX 13. A helicopter crew from the Utah Department of Public Safety spotted her from the air near Elephant Head and Split Rock Bay. They confirmed she was dead. Members of the Davis County Search and Rescue teams recovered her body around midnight.
The woman, whose name had not been released as of Saturday night, appears to have died from falling and hitting her head, a Utah State Parks spokesperson told FOX 13.
