BAREILLY: Moradabad police on Friday arrested a youth for allegedly harassing a 20-year-old BA final-year student in Dilari village in Moradabad district.
The complainant alleged that the youth, identified as Shariq β also a resident of Bamania Patti under Dilari police jurisdiction β often harassed her in public and passed lewd comments when she returned from her coaching classes. The victim also alleged that the accused threatened of kidnapping her on being opposed.
SHO Dilari police station Sanjay Kumar told TOI, βOn the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and the accused has been arrested.β
