Latest News LIVE updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday handed over to the Army the home made Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A). At a function, he also accepted a salute by the state- of-the-art tank, indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured by DRDO's Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment. Fifteen academic institutions, eight labs and several MSMEs were also involved in the project.

In the early morning hours on Sunday, at least 14 people got killed, and four were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck near Madarpur village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. Injured have been admitted to Government General Hospital.

Meanwhile, 40 bodies have been recovered from different areas that were affected by the glacier burst in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand, while 166 people are still missing.

In another news, voting for the 117 Punjab urban local bodies, including eight high-stake municipal corporations, began on Sunday. Polling started at 8 am, and will continue till 4 pm

On the international front, former US President Donald Trump was acquitted by the Senate on Saturday on the charge of inciting the January 6 riot at the Capitol after an unprecedented second impeachment trial that exposed a Republican Party deeply divided over Trump’s conduct and uneasy with his continued role in public life.
