HYDERABAD: Union minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said the Centre had no plans to make Hyderabad a union territory.
Interacting with the media in Hyderabad, Reddy refuted the remarks of AIMIM MP Asduddin Owaisi in the Parliament on Saturday in which he had claimed that the Centre will make Hyderabad and other cities like Chennai and Bangaluru as UTs.
“There is no truth in that. Before we could reply to Owaisi’s statement in the House, he had left,” Kishan Reddy said.
We will develop all the cities but not make them union territories, he added.
He also expressed confidence that the BJP will win two MLC seats, including the Hyderabad- Ranga Reddy - Mahbubangar segments.
“Hyderabad seat will go to BJP. People have understood the real nature of the TRS,” he said.
