KANPUR: The DAV (Dayanand Anglo Vaidic) college has given a donation of Rs 11 lakh for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
According to Nagendra Swaroop, secretary, Board of Management DAV college, a cheque of Rs 11 lakh was handed to Champat Rai, vice president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), on Saturday for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Swaroop said, "For the pious work of constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, DAV has contributed Rs 11 lakh."
One of the most distinguished educational institute, which runs several other education institutions in the state, it has produced many notable alumni in different walks of life, including two of the country's personalities --firstly --former late Prime Minister -Atal Bihari Vajpayee and President Ram Nath Kovind.
