MAAMBA organizes longest ultra-cycling event in India

Imphal, February 12 2021:
Manipur Adventure And Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) today organized one of the longest ultra-cycling event in India, the 600 BRM here in Imphal.
The randonneuring event flagged off by noted actress Soma Laishram from Palace Compound at 8am.The event flagged in at MAAMBA Office at Thangmeiband after covering a distance of 600km in just 40 hours.
Ten endurance cyclists have registered for the ride.
BRMs are considered as one of the most prestigious non-competitive endurance cycling event in the world.
The event is a part of a Super Randonneurs series which was started in December last year and consist of 200, 300, 400 and 600 BRMs.
Cyclists who manage to complete the series will be eligible for the longest endurance cycling event, the 1200 km Paris–Brest–Paris (PBP) to be held in 2023 at Paris.
The cycling event is being organised by Imphal Randonneurs (IR), the Ultra Cycling Wing of Manipur Adventure And Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) to promote cycling in the state.
Cycling besides being a recreational activity, can also promote a healthy lifestyle, save fuels and thus save our environment.
