Mumbai: House owner held for the death of a labourer due to electrocution

MUMBAI: A house owner was arrested for negligence after the labourer he hired to repair his house at Mhada’s Sadguru Society in Malad (West) on Friday died of electrocution. The incident occurred at around 11 am when the deceased Shivram Kale (40) when he came in contact with the live wire, said the Malvani police.
Kale was doing the repairing of the wall when he touched the live wire passing through the wall which he did not notice. “The accused was arrested under the Indian Penal Code section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence). He was released on bail after produced before the court on Saturday,” said Malvani police senior inspector Shekar Bhalearo.
Police said the accused was arrested on the complaint received from Kale’s mother Yamunabai (65) alleging that her son died because the person who hired him did not follow the safety measures.
