Singtam, 12 February : One person has died due to electric shock in Golitar Singtam. According to the news, Rajat Singh Kami (30), a resident of Singtam Shantinagar and a lineman of the Power Department, died on the spot after being electrocuted while checking the power line at a transmitter on Golitar Highway at around 8.45 pm on Thursday. Rajat is the son of former lineman of Power department Lt. Dambar Singh Kami. The family of Rajat Singh Kami has blamed the power department for the death of Rajat Singh Kami due to the negligence of the power department in this incident while the Singtam police has filed a case against the power department under section 304/34 of the IPC and is thoroughly investigating the incident. A police source said that Rajat Singh Kami’s body was handed over to his family after postmortem at Singtam District Hospital and family has learned that his last rites has performed today.
