MUMBAI: Former media consultant at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Jasim Mohammad has established the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS), a think-tank in Aligarh to promote peace and harmony. Aimed also at amplifying the “Narendra Modi Model” of growth and development, the Centre will hold seminars and symposiums and conduct research and studies on Modi’s pet projects like Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Sabka Saath, Sabkaa Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.
“There are Centres of Nehru, Ambedkar, Vivekanand, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Studies. They all have their own values but a Centre for Narendra Modi Studies is a must because Modi symbolizes a new India, an India which is strong, self-reliant and forward looking,” said Centre’s chairman Mohammad who has already got CNMS as a public trust. This can also be called “NaMo Kendra or NaMo Centre” and its area of operations is global. So, it can hold a meeting or conference anywhere in the world but focus will be on how to popularize the thoughts and ideas of Narendra Modi.
Apart from holding seminars and conferences, from the next academic year the Centre plans to hold short-term workshops for college students and teachers on themes like atmanirbhar bharat, India’s freedom movement, democracy and the Constitution of India. Among other academic activities to be undertaken by the Centre include Narendra Modi model of nation-building, defining parameters of concept of secularism, liberal democracy, non-alignment and social justice as spelled by Narendra Modi to enable and facilitate policy makers. The Centre will also create inter-linkages with NGOs and academic institutions to prepare and provide authentic data. When asked if he will be labelled a “stooge” of Modi, Mohammad, a former director of Jamia Urdu in Aligarh, said: “I am not bothered about what others say. You are bound to ruffle a few feathers if you are going to do something new and unconventional. Many of those who oppose this initiative may join me later.”
