The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its list of 16 nominees for the 2021 induction ceremony.
The list includes late Nigerian star Fela Kuti, rapper Jay-Z, Foo Fighters as well as iconic singers Tina Turner and Chaka Khan who have both been nominated before.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, musicians need to have a catalogue dating back at least 25 years, NBC News reports. Meaning that both Jay-Z and the Foo Fighters just recently made the cut as they stepped onto the music scene in 1995 with their debut albums.
Other artists making a return to the nominee's list to once again vie for a spot in the Hall of Fame include LL Cool J, Carole King and Mary J. Blige.
According to Billboard, the 2021 list is the Hall of Fame's most gender-inclusive, featuring the highest number of female nominees in its history. The final list of inductees will be announced in May.
