This was announced by Forbes India on February 8 in recognition of her efforts to protect the environment and her fight against climate change.‘Forbes 30 Under 30’ is a set of lists issued annually by Forbes magazine and some of its regional editions. Farm leaders have hailed her achievement as Licypriya had visited the farmer protests at Singhu border some days ago and had supported the struggle.
Licypriya’s works proved that age doesn’t matter to make a difference and to succeed in life if there is hard work and patience. She is not only playing a crucial role in raising the voice for urgent climate actions to the world leaders to save the planet and their future, she is also an inspiration to millions of children around the world as she is founder of ‘The Child Movement’, a movement for climate justice and child rights.
Licypriya of Manipur said, “I am humbled to find my name in the Forbes list.” She recently designed and developed the world’s first solar bamboo reading lamp and started distributions to several countries. This small innovation helps in supporting the poor handicrafts artists of Manipur with additional income and also creating jobs to hundreds of unemployed youths of the country. This bamboo lamp is also promoting the idea of made in Manipur and made in India of PM Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat.
