Lauren London served up an easy-to-create take on the athleisure trend last night with a little help from Puma.
The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to show off her casual-chic attire, modeling a sports bra and two-tone joggers from the German sportswear brand; similar tops retail for $25 whereas her pants sell for $50 at Puma.com. The outfit then came complete with a black and white flannel top and coordinating sneakers.
The brand’s Suede Classic+ kicks have been around since the 1960s and still remain a hit silhouette in modern times; formed with a textured rubber outsole, signature callout side panels and lace-up closure, the sneakers are available now for $65 online.
London and Puma formed close ties in December 2019 after the death of London’s beau Nipsey Hussle. The television personality partnered with the brand for a campaign titled “Forever Stronger,” focusing on a video that featured a poem paying homage to the late rapper, who was shot and killed in March 2019.
In the video, London recited a poem written by Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith.
“Pain is the light; pain is insight. The body hurts, but the spirit grows. The flesh is starving while wisdom overflows,” she said. “I got a question only Lord knows: Does life birth us twice?”
In early March 2019, before his untimely passing, Hussle announced a partnership between Puma and his brand, The Marathon Clothing. The 16-piece collection was then launched in the fall of that year, six months after his death. Since then, the collaboration has evolved into a continuous partnership with the original rereleasing in February 2020 and a new capsule on the way in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the rapper’s “The Marathon” mixtape.
As announced on Instagram by The Marathon Clothing earlier this week, the upcoming collab will include new iterations of the RS-X3 sneaker. The release information for The Marathon Clothing x Puma RS-X3 “10-Year Anniversary” collection has yet to be announced by the brands.
