Palghar needs total development: CM Uddhav

Palghar, Feb 12 (UNI) Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that Palghar the predominantly tribal district in the state which has completed six years will be developed in totality and not not in piecemeal.
He was talking to the media at Jawhar after his visit to the district on a half a day pre-lunch tour where he went round various locations in and Jawhar to get the feel of the tribal region of the district.
He said that he was aware of the problems faced by the district since long being a tribal district and the government was committed to developing the district in totality which will include, health, education, communication, water, industries and tourism etc.
Today’s visit is a first and preliminary and flying one and I have been appraised of the status of the district and the needs and we will surely address one by one and solve the issues to give the best of all-round facilities he said.
He said that the district has the best seacoast and also Jawhar which can be developed as a hill station and the government will work towards it. At the same time, we will not ignore the issue of malnourishment and the drinking potable water supply to the villages he said.
He said that there have been problems and issues being faced by Palghar for long and the development of the district has started from today from my visit and we will ensure that the district is developed in totality by providing all the facilities he said.
He also said that just by announcing the district and setting up a few offices will not suffice what was needed was provided of the facilities and infrastructure which the government is committed and will do he said.
In reply to a question on the Governor-Flight episode he conveniently ignored it in his usual jovial style and said that now now that you have asked me about the Airplane the facilities in Jawhar (Palghar) will also include good airstrip where everyone's flight will land.
He was conducted round by District Collector Manik Gurusal and also the local MP Rajendra Gavit and District Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse accompanied the chief minister who visited some of the facilities and later held a total discussion on the district will officials of the district.
