Lucknow, Feb 12 (UNI) The reservation process for the three-tier Panchayat election started from Friday in Uttar Pradesh.

Under this process, the reservation of district panchayat presidents will be decided from the government level while the number of block pramukhs will also be decided from the government level and the reservation will be done at the district level.

Reservation of village pradhans will also be done at the district level and the number will also be decided in the district itself, considering the block as the standard. The reservation arrangement will be done keeping in mind the seats which had been unreserved till now. For example, the seat which was not reserved for the Scheduled Caste in the past five years, will now be reserved for the SC.

33 per cent reservation will continue as before.
