Haryana home minister Anil Vij directs officers to prepare draft of anti-conversion law

Vij said that the laws made on this subject in other states are also being studied.
CHANDIGARH: Haryana home minister Anil Vij has directed the concerned officers to prepare a draft of anti-conversion law so that it can be implemented as soon as possible.
While presiding over a meeting of the Drafting Committee held in this regard on Thursday, the home minister said that the enactment of this law will prevent any attempt to get religious conversion by force, inducement, bluff of marriage or by any other unethical methods by anyone in the state.
Strict action will be taken against the culprits, he added.
During the meeting, all aspects of the preliminary draft brought by the committee were carefully considered.
Vij said that the laws made on this subject in other states are also being studied.
Additional chief secretary, home, jails, criminal investigation and administration of justice department, Rajeev Arora, secretary, home-I department, TL Satyaprakash, director general of police, Manoj Yadava, additional director general of police Navdeep Singh Virk and an additional advocate general were also present in the meeting.
