Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and leader of Opposition in legislative assembly Devendra Fadnavis has hit out at the state government over the issue of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari being denied the state aircraft for travel.

Fadnavis tweeted, " Government's plane is not anyone's personal property! Making Hon Governor get off the plane? Where does so much ego in MVA Govt come from? Never ever seen such egoistic Govt in Maharashtra."

Meanwhile, the office of Governor said that after direction from the Governor tickets for Dehradun were booked on a commercial aircraft and left at 12:15 hours.

When Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was asked about the incident, he said he was not aware of the incident. "Since morning I have been busy with the junta darbar and I do not have any idea about this issue. I am hearing this from the media. I will find out details about this issue and then comment." he said.

The incident has the potential to deepen the fault-lines between the Shiv Sena and BJP.

BJP leader Ashish Shelar said that Sena had set a very bad precedent acting in a egoistic fashion and that the people will soon teach them a lesson.

Meanwhile, reacting to the question of Governor being denied state plane, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that he won't say the Governor wasn't allowed to go but added that the Governor had acted in an unconstitutional fashion by not signing on the names of 12 nominations for the upper house in the state cleared by the cabinet.

He further said the Governor's act too was against the law and unconstitutional. "If waiting for 15 minutes was an insult, then not clearing the names and proposal sent by the cabinet too is an insult of the cabinet," he said.
